About Me
I am a Reader in Philosophy at the University of Liverpool, UK and programme director of the B.A. (Hons) in Mathematics and Philosophy.
From 2023 until 2026, I am Principle Investigator on the project 'Entrapment, Criminal Justice, and Ethics', working with Daniel Hill, Attila Tanyi, and Tarek Yusari. From January 2018 until July 2021, I was Associate Dean (Education) in the School of the Arts. Other leadership roles I have occupied at Liverpool include Curriculum & Teaching Lead (Philosophy), Director of Undergraduate Studies (Philosophy), National Student Survey Lead (Philosophy), Assessment Co-ordinator (School of the Arts) and Education Deputy Lead (School of the Arts). Previously, I was an analyst/programmer in the financial sector and a part-time teacher for the Open University in Scotland. During and shortly after my doctoral studies, I taught at the University of Glasgow. |
Educational Background |
I studied philosophy at the University of Glasgow and publishing at the University of Stirling. My Ph.D. was conducted at Glasgow, under the supervision of Bob Hale, and examined by E.J. Lowe and Pat Shaw. I hold a PGCE in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education from the University of Liverpool.

Personal Background |
I was born in Glasgow and raised mainly in the west of Scotland. I now live in rural Lancashire. My interests outside work include music, cooking, fitness, hill-walking, the Iberian peninsula, languages, and linguistics.
